A chef who claimed he feared police because they affected his mental health has been fined for escaping lawful custody.
Callum Robert Dubost of Homefield Close in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted escaping police and using threatening words or behaviour on Walpole Avenue in Douglas on June 27.
Prosecutor Rachael Braidwood told the hearing police were called after the 23 year old refused to leave Bordello nightclub on Douglas Promenade at around 1.30am.
When officers arrived, Dubost kept swearing until he was arrested, before running off and being tackled by police on Victoria Street.
Representing himself in court he told the bench he was afraid of police, but knew he shouldn’t have run away.
Magistrates fined him a total of £1,100 and ordered him to pay costs of £125.
