Hospice Care has applied for planning permission for a polytunnel outside its base in Braddan.
In its application, the charity says the 6-foot growing tunnel would be built on land at the back of its building.
It says it hopes to give Hospice residents more recreational facilities.
In its application, the organisation says the tunnel was designed in Shetland to withstand weather.
