The Department of Social Care has issued a Prior Information Notice ahead of introducing radical changes to the way home care is provided.
Under new plans home care would be contracted out to a new provider instead of keeping it all ‘in house’.
Minister Chris Robertshaw says it’s a further attempt by government to move away from the tag of being ‘all things to everyone’.
Social Care would commission contracts to appropriate providers, whilst still working closely with them to ensure appropriate standards are still being met.
