The Chamber of Commerce is encouraging a 'fundamental need for change' to the Island's work permit system.
The Chamber's survey revealed out of 92 members 61 believe the current work permit system hinders the Isle of Man's economy with more than a quarter indicating the system had forced their business to consider expansion or relocation off Island.
Considering this, the Chamber of Commerce believes fundamental and quick change is needed so the Island can see growth across all sectors.
Chair of unemployment, training and skills Caren Pegg said key concerns were that the system is inefficient and lengthy, it encourages adequacy rather than excellence, the lack of flexibility and it does not encourage upskilling:
