Mark Cavendish says his win in the National Road Race Championship yesterday was ‘unexpected’.
The Manx Missile took victory in the 184km race in Glasgow beating defending champion Ian Stannard and Scotland’s David Millar.
Speaking after his win he said he wasn’t expecting to take victory as he was racing more as preparation for the Tour de France which starts this weekend.
Fellow Manxman and Olympic gold medallist Peter Kennaugh also did well coming in in fourth position.
