Cav Finds Form Again to Take Stage 5
Mark Cavendish reminded the World of what he is capable of yesterday when he won stage five of the Tour De France.
Cav well and truly bounced back yesterday to take the stage from Epernay to Montagris and secure some much-needed points as he hunts that Green Jersey. It was an emotional win with tears on the podium. Cav said it's an incredible feeling to be winning again. (audio above)
He’d been as good as written off after he narrowly lost Wednesday’s stage, eventually finishing twelfth; a crash in the first stage also ruined any chances of a win.
Currently Thor Hushovd is still favourite to take the Green Jersey with Cav in 9th place in the rankings on 50 points.
Today’s stage will see him go from Montargis onto Gueugnon.
At 227km it’s one of the longer tracks, one which will require Cav to pull out all the stops if he is to get another win.
