Commissioners won't chip in for department's for new car park

Patrick Commissioners say they're unhappy about being asked to fund a Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture car park.

At its last meeting the board heard DEFA had written to the body about the facility planned at Kionslieu Dam.

It said the proposed costs were too high and so would need a contribution from the local authority.

However, members voted to point out it was a DEFA project and the board couldn't support costs being passed to ratepayers.
