Cavendish crashes out in stage 3 sprint

The world champion fell 100 metres from the final as he preparing for his final trademark burst.

The Manxman took to his twitter page to appeal for cyclist Roberto Ferrari to be taken out of the event, after it was his dangerous manoeuvre that led to the fall. 

Cav will benefit from having a rest day today, and it's expected he will be back in action as normal tomorrow.
