Manx Missile Now in 5th Place In Green Jersey Leaderboard
Mark Cavendish moved up the point’s leader board after yesterday’s win, he is now only 33 points behind race rival Thor Hushovd in pursuit of the Green Jersey.
Cav and his team rode the perfect race yesterday and 600metres from the end Cav turned on the acceleration and secured the 12th Tour stage win of his career.
It’s expected to get a lot trickier for the Manx Missile today however with the first of the Alps stages, traditionally Cav doesn’t flourish on the hilly events.
Nonetheless he is in a much stronger position than he was 4 days ago and is once again being touted as a favourite to win the Green Jersey at the end of the 20 stage event.
