Cav Takes Emphatic Stage Win Despite Illness
Mark Cavendish won an emphatic victory in the 18th Stage of the Tour De France despite battling Bronchitis.
He was a doubt to even start today after 4 days of sickness left him feeling weak.
It was a must win race for Cav putting him right back in the frame for the Green Jersey, with only 2 days racing left with a 16 point deficit to overturn.
The win was all the more impressive given that his team mate Mark Renshaw who has in the past cleared the way for his sprint finishes was absent due to disqualification.
That makes it 4 wins of the tour for Cav, and 14 of his career.
All eyes will be on Cav now as the sprinters steam into Paris on the final day of racing on Sunday.
