Castletown is becoming the first dementia friendly town on the Isle of Man.
Home Instead Senior Care is driving forward the initiative in conjunction with the local chamber of commerce, commissioners and the Southern Befrienders.
Caregivers want to help people in the town to identify the signs of dementia and teach them techniques on how to interact with someone who has the illness.
There are around 1200 people with dementia on the Island
Director Emer Wiseman says the numbers are continually rising so it’s important to act now:
