Castletown is becoming the first dementia friendly town on the Isle of Man.
Home Instead Senior Care is driving forward the initiative in conjunction with the local chamber of commerce, commissioners and the Southern Befrienders.
Caregivers want to help people in the town to identify the signs of dementia and teach them techniques on how to interact with someone who has the illness.
There are around 1200 people with dementia on the Island
Director Emer Wiseman says the numbers are continually rising so it’s important to act now:
MHK to present immigration petition to Tynwald
Injured walker rescued from Snaefell
Town centre road shut for five days this week
Royal Assent for laws giving parents and carers more rights
New cafe opens in iconic former pub
Have your say on the Island's childcare
Service to be held for long-serving RNLI volunteer
Road in south to shut for cat's eyes installation
