Castletown Commissioners has voted to move its public meetings to 6pm.
It added an amendment for flexibility, if one of the board will not be able to make the scheduled time it can be changed.
Any changes to the time will be shared with members of the public.
Two commissioners were against the move, Jerry Ludford-Brooks and Colin Leather, who believed it could deter people from standing for election.
The local authority will continue to meet on the first Monday of the month at Castletown Town Hall on Farrants Way.
