Castletown Commissioners close town hall toilets because of vandalism

Friday, 9 February 2024 12:15

By Emma Draper - Local Democracy Reporter

Castletown Commissioners says its town hall toilets will remain closed due to ongoing ‘wilful damage’ to the facilities.

In a statement the authority says the vandalism involves the ‘destruction’ of soap dispensers, toilet mechanisms and ‘intentional’ toilet blocking to cause fires and floods.

The commissioners add the damage generally happens over the weekends but the Quayside toilets are closed due to an incident that happened overnight.

It’s also urging residents to report damage or ‘suspicious activity’ to the commissioners or the Southern Neighbourhood Policing Team.
