Douglas Council says it's the hardest-hit local authority when it comes to rate exemptions for dangerous or ruinous buildings.
The council, which is due to meet this week, was asked to respond to government plans which could see the end of rate-free run-down buildings.
In a report, the Executive Committee heard around a third of zero-rated Island properties are in the capital, and the lost income accounted for almost 60 per cent of all local authorities.
Councillors will meet at Douglas Town Hall at 2.30pm this Wednesday, November 12.
