Campaign Launched Promoting Safety for Children When Browing the Web
A campaign has been launched today in an effort to raise awareness across the Island about potential problem areas Children could encounter when browsing the Internet.
The initiative includes all of the Island’s schools and coincides with the UK wide scheme Safer Internet Day.
It is highlighting the fact that expert advice is available via www.thinkuknow.co.uk– a website run by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre, which is affiliated to the police.
We spoke to Karen Davies the Chairman of the Southern Multi Agency Team, she said in particular Parent's should be wary of their younger children accessing social networking sites like Facebook and Myspace.
