Plans to build a new multi-storey car park, library and office space in Douglas are ‘dead in the water’.
Douglas Council says it’s disappointed that its regeneration plans for Cambrian Place have been blocked.
It’s after the Department of Infrastructure turned down the council’s plans to borrow the funding and purchase the land.
As a result the land owner has removed the land from sale meaning no development will take place.
Council leader David Christian says it’s a missed opportunity:
TT food van needed for trackside car park
Northern roadworks to hinge on Mountain Road reopening
Beer festival to return this week
Dublin to sign friendship agreement with Douglas in summer
Total of 35 properties on council's dilapidated list
Equipment being sold off from popular former bar
Council to object to Summerland site plans
