Buying landing stage will buy 'certainty' says Minister

Spending £3.5 million of taxpayers' cash on a new landing stage in Liverpool will provide certainty for the future. 

That's according to the Department of Infrastructure which will ask Tynwald to sign over the money later this month. 
 
It wants to purchase a piece of land at Princes Half-Tide Dock and then appoint a developer to design and build a new ferry terminal saying without it we risk losing the most popular sea route. 
 
No work would begin on the site until agreement has been reached with the company which would operate from the location - Minister Phil Gawne says he's confident it's the right way forward:
