The Department for Enterprise is advising businesses to make sure they're ready for changes to parental and compassionate leave in November.
If Tynwald approves the changes, from November 1 mums and dads will have new rights to take time off.
That includes legal rights to leave after the death of a child or miscarriage, and up to 50 weeks' shared leave for new parents.
Treasury says it'll introduce a new allowance for shared parental and bereavement leave to help those who aren't paid for it by their employer.
