The Department of Infrastructure will not be prioritising the introduction of e-tickets on buses.
That's according to Minister Tim Crookall, who was asked what progress has been made on updating the ticketing by MHK David Ashford.
Mr Crookall said there was an unsuccessful trial, but the department continues to engage with industry professionals.
He was then questioned as to why the Island has struggled to implement a system which is standard technology in many other places, including small jurisdictions:
