A Braddan man's failed in an attempt to have a conviction for assaulting a woman overturned.
Andrew Fenton of Cronk Grianagh represented himself before Judge of Appeal Storey and Deemster Montgomerie at Douglas Courthouse.
Last November, he was found guilty of causing actual bodily harm and sentenced to 18 months' probation following an incident outside his home last May.
The trial heard he'd dragged her from his car, pulling her hair and throwing her onto a concrete floor before driving away with her hanging out of his van.
She suffered a dislocated shoulder, cuts and bruises and was awarded £750 compensation - but at appeal, Fenton claimed her injuries were self-inflicted.
His account was described as "simply not believable", and the appeal was dismissed.
