Braddan Commissioners say they want to take out a 30-year loan for more than £475,000 to carry out work on properties.
On Facebook, they say they'll ask the Department of Infrastructure for permission to borrow the cash to improve Jubilee and Coronation Terrace at the Strang.
The local authority - which raised its rates by more than 36 per cent this year - says some of the properties need replacement rooves, windows and doors.
Anyone with any views on the proposed borrowing can submit them to the Department of Infrastructure at the Sea Terminal by noon on May 17.
