The Bowl football stadium in Douglas has been closed with immediate effect because of structural damage.
The decision has been made after recent poor weather caused damage to columns holding the canopy above the seating section.
It won't re-open again until engineers have completed safety work which will take place in the New Year on a date to be set.
The National Sports Centre is apologising for any inconvenience caused - those with scheduled bookings will be contacted and credited for any allocations lost.
