Tynwald Approve £2.9 Million Bowl Refurbishment
Tynwald this week gave the go ahead to a major redevelopment for the Bowl stadium, finally bringing an end to months of speculation and doubt surrounding its future.
The £2.9 million set aside for the refurbishment will see the existing Bowl turned into a 3000 seat stadium, which will host the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2011, as well as host the Rugby Sevens and Football matches.
Work will commence immediately to ensure that it's ready in time for the games in September of next year, when over 1000 athletes from all over World will descend on the Island.
Chairman of the Youth Games Geoff Karran has said the redevelopment is great news not only for the Games itself, but the Island as a whole:
