Borough wardens to tackle antisocial behaviour

Douglas Council has introduced borough wardens in an effort to improve quality of life standards in the town.

The current car park inspectors have now had their role expanded to include what the council calls "environmental oversight”.

Wardens will work with enforcement officers to counter antisocial behavior including dog fouling, litter, graffiti and fly tipping.

David Ashcroft, public works committee chairman, said the council was determined to do all it could to tackle antisocial activity which could blight the town and have the potential to deter visitors and investors.
