Two women from Douglas who stole more than £2,000 worth of goods from the pharmacy where they both worked will be sentenced next month.
23-year-old Rebecca Marran, of Woodbourne Road, and 21-year-old Abigail Paterson, of Albany Road, appeared at Douglas Courthouse today.
They both pleaded guilty to a charge of theft which took place at Boots in Douglas on March 28th.
Security staff at the Strand Street store contacted police after reviewing CCTV which showed employee Paterson serving ex-employee Marran on two separate occasions on that day.
Footage showed Paterson, who was on her last day before maternity leave, scanning a number of items - however suspicions were raised when some of the products were still showing as in stock.
Till records were checked which showed the only item properly scanned, and actually paid for, on both occasions was a bottle of £1 shower gel.
The court was told among the haul of stolen goods was a baby monitor, electric toothbrush, microdermabrasion brush and a large amount of Dior, Benefit and Smashbox make up.
The total value of items was £2,046.74p - the court was told £717 worth of goods were later returned.
Social enquiry reports have been requested before the duo is sentenced on May 16th - both have been bailed until that date.
