The Island's ninth Manx Bard has been unveiled, after beating off an 'overwhelming amount of entries this year.'
Boakesey Closs has taken up the role, which was unanimously decided by the judges.
Part of the Manx Bard's role is to highlight and preserve Manx culture and storytelling.
The inauguration event saw four shortlisted entries perform their own work, with Boakesey's 'Manannan's Revenge' clinching her the title.
