Bishop calls on government to condemn atrocities in Syria

The Island’s Bishop, Robert Paterson has written to the Chief Minister asking him to publicly condemn the atrocities in Syria.

His call comes following the recent massacre in Houla, which saw the murder of 108 Sunni Muslins, 49 of whom where children.

The Bishop has asked Mr Bell that government keep a close eye on the on-going suppression of free speech, both in Syria and other countries of the world.

He wants to ensure that our economy does not profit, from others’ pain.
