Big things promised for TT 2012

With early indicators showing record numbers of spectators headed for the TT this year efforts are being stepped up by the team behind its organisation.

The TT will be more relevant than ever this year following the unprecedented success of TT3D: Closer to the Edge, introducing it to a whole new audience.

It's anticipated this will be reflected in the numbers of people making the journey to the Island, also in viewing figures to the ITV 4 coverage.

One of the key figures leading the preparation is TT Motorsport Development Manager, Paul Phillips.

Speaking to 3FM he said tickets for the new fanzones are going very well; it will be the first time the course has seen purpose built mini grandstands, offering car parking, catering and wifi.

There will also be the new lightweight race for the morning of senior race day and negotiations are ongoing with some big names about their inclusion, although no more details can be revealed.
