Kindhearted people on the Island are being warned not to let people take advantage of their generosity.
It's after someone tried to scam a community Facebook page for Port Erin.
Those responsible posted on the page claiming to need just £2.90 for their meter and providing a Paypal account to donate to.
But the Island doesn't have prepaid gas meters, giving their game away.
It's the latest scam to hit a local Facebook page - they're often easy for fraudsters to join and post to.
