The Island's Fire and Rescue service is reminding dog owners to take care of their pooches in the blazing hot weather.
On Facebook it showed a thermal imaging camera clocking a pavement at 46 degrees Celsius - hot enough to burn dogs' paws.
Firefighters say in those sort of temperatures you should stay hydrated and carry enough water for both you and your dog.
Walking pets early in the morning or late in the evening, and sticking to shady routes and grassy areas, will help ensure your pet stays healthy.
