The government says the Manannan berthed at the new Liverpool ferry terminal for the first time today as part of ongoing testing.
The fastcraft was taking part in berthing trials at the new facility as it nears completion.
In January, Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall said sailings should begin later this month, but today on Facebook the government said that date will be confirmed by the Steam Packet 'in due course'.
External works are continuing and a pedestrian bridge refurbishment is almost complete.
