Damage to the Ben-my-Chree is more serious than previously thought.
The vessel was dry docked last weekend after damaging its stabiliser fin during the prolonged period of bad weather.
Whilst the boat was out of the water a complete hull inspection and other minor repairs were also carried out.
During this time the manufacturers of the part found that some of the key components – which would normally last the lifetime of the fin – now need to be replaced.
It means the repair time will be significantly longer than first expected which means the second period of dry docking has been postponed.
