Residents and visitors in Port Erin could soon have extra facilities to enjoy on the town's beach.
Plans have been put forward to put up 12 beach huts on Port Erin beach which would be in place from March 28 to October 31 each year and would be open fom 8am to 10pm each day.
Those behind the application say they intend to make them initially available for daily rentals, but they're also keen to make them available for community initiatives such as morning yoga sessions, open water swimming clubs and cinema nights.
Half of them would be decorated in traditional British seaside colours whilst the other six would have a carribean style look.
Meanwhile, two local charities have also show interest in supporting the initiative - with Isle Listen hoping to have one hut available for any members of the community to come and have a chat, and Hospice Isle of Man are looking to offer a hut free of charge to cancer patients currently receiving treatment.
Out of hours, CCTV will be in place to monitor the site and huts will be able to be securely locked.
The applicants add having bathing huts on those shores have been a large part of the town's history and bringing them back would be an asset to the Island as well as bringing some colour and brightness to the area.
