Douglas fire crews attended two kitchen fires yesterday, and encourage residents to be mindful.
One incident involved a cooker, prompting a reminder that unattended cooking is the leading cause of kitchen fires so it’s important to remain aware.
Another fire was alerted to residents by a smoke alarm, giving them the chance to evacuate as soon as possible.
The Fire Service says to ensure you have a smoke alarm and test it on a regular basis, as they can save lives.
