A drink driver has been banned from the road after she was caught driving whilst almost double the legal limit.
46-year-old Wasna Bradburn, from St Johns, was stopped by police on Derby Road in Peel in the early hours of Saturday morning.
She smelt of intoxicants and after failing a roadside breath test was arrested - at Douglas Courthouse on Tuesday she pleaded guilty to the offence.
Bradburn's advocate told the court it was an "error of judgement" - explaining she'd consumed the alcohol after work and then attempted to drive home.
Describing her attitude towards the offence as "shock, embarrassment and deep regret" he begged Magistrates "I'm asking you to treat this case as a regrettable one off".
Sentencing Bradburn they disqualified her from driving for two years, and until she's taken and passed an extended driving test, fined her £1,000 and ordered her to pay costs of £125.
