Two people have been arrested following a 'large number' of unused lateral flow tests being dumped at an amenity site.
Police have confirmed a man and woman from Douglas have been apprehended - a 'very large number' of the tests were also discovered at their respective home addresses.
The constabulary was asked by government to investigate after the unused kits were found at the Eastern Civic Amenity Site last month.
Officers have also shared they uncovered a large number of undelivered 'home delivery' parcels at the addresses - the circumstances of which are being investigated.
The two people arrested have been bailed while further enquiries take place - people are being asked not to speculate whilst the matter is ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Steve Berry said: "A team of officers are working on this case and we have clearly had a very good result so far and we will keep the public updated. Please do not contact the police about missing parcels at this time as it will impact on resources involved in the investigation. Due to the quantity of these parcels, and the complexity around whether customers have already had parcels replaced, we are advising that if you haven't received your parcel you contact the point of purchase."
