Schools around the Island are open as normal today, as far as 3FM is currently aware.
As of 7.30am no official updates or announcements have been made by government officials to state otherwise - should this change updates will be made as soon as possible.
The government advised last night school bus services this afternoon may be disrupted because of the conditions - no further details have yet been issued on this matter.
Meanwhile, two amber weather warnings will be in force between 9am and 5pm today for severe gales and coastal overtopping around the Island as Storm Brendan arrives.
The constabulary is warning of 'treacherous' driving conditions and says residents should only travel if absolutely necessary.
