Anglers asked to renew licences for new season

Freshwater anglers are being reminded to get their licences to fish for the upcoming season.

The 2020/21 season runs from March 10 until January 31 next year and licences are needed to allow fishing at reservoirs at Ballure, Clypse, Cringle, Kerrowdhoo, Sulby and West Baldwin which are stocked with rainbow trout.

Officials also say prices have risen slightly this time around, with an adult permit priced at just over £213 and £81 for those aged 14 to 18 and still free to anyone under 14.

The licences will be on sale from Monday, February 24 - and are available on the government website, at the Sea Terminal Welcome Centre or DEFA Headquarters in St Johns.
