Island social media users have reacted angrily to photos of the chief minister meeting members of a Northern Irish party which has battled against LGBTQ rights.
Howard Quayle was pictured with DUP politicians Arlene Foster and Edwin Poots at the British-Irish Council meeting taking place today.
Mr Poots once described same-sex civil partnerships as "unnatural" and "abominable", and strongly opposed ending a ban on gay men donating blood.
On Twitter, one Manx resident said it "tone deaf" to show the meeting when the government has applied a rainbow effect to its profile picture supporting tomorrows Isle of Pride event.
The irony of you posting this with the pride flag in your profile picture. Just tone deaf.
