Ronaldsway Met Office has upgraded a weather warning about ice to amber.
Forecasters say says wintry showers today will be frequent and heavy at times over parts of the island.
A yellow weather warning remains in place as up to three inches of snow could fall on high ground.
However, after the snow and sleet dies out freezing temperatures will see icy stretches on roads as wet surfaces freeze.
An amber warning for ice runs until midday on Monday.
