An alcoholic from Douglas has been fined £100 after breaking an order banning him from purchasing alcohol.
59-year-old Barry Corkill, of Laburnum Avenue, bought a bottle of vodka from the EVF garage on Peel Road on July 13th.
At Douglas Courthouse earlier this week he admitted breaching a licensing order imposed by the court in June.
The court heard Corkill had entered the store at 2.45pm and purchased the alcohol - staff were alerted to the fact he was banned by an off duty doorman.
Corkill, who represented himself in court, told Magistrates: "I've had a problem with alcohol all my life," adding that he'd tried to get help but admitting; "I fail every time."
Imposing the fine, and prosecution costs of £50, Magistrates told him: "We do hope you can get some help for your condition."
