End of Anxious Wait for 400 A-Level Students
It's A-level results day today, an end to the anxious wait for the 400 sixth form students on the Island.
The results are the culmination of two years hard work, and for the first time ever there are A star grades on offer.
Despite reports that it’s going to be harder than ever for students to get onto their desired course in the UK, it's thought Manx students won’t experience the same problems as the Island falls outside of the University’s UK student quota system.
More than 900 students at the five secondary schools will begin receiving GCSE and equivalent results next Tuesday.
Paul Craine from the Department of Education and Children has said for all those pupils who fail to achieve their desired grades there are still processes in place which should enable them to get to University.
For those who don't get the grades they hoped for the careers team will be at Ramsey Grammar, Castle Rushen and the QE2 School.
For those who attended a Douglas based school you can contact the Careers Centre on corner of Hill St and Upper Church St between 9AM and 5PM.
