A woman from Australia who walked onto a closed road during racing yesterday has been fined £700.
Lynette Brown of Hesket Boundary Road in Hesket in Victoria tried to cross Peel Road in Glen Vine just after 10am but was stopped by a marshal and arrested.
The 67 year old said she'd visited her mother and gone for a walk but lost track of time.
She appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse this morning, and admitted the Road Races Act offence.
Magistrates ordered her to pay the fine forthwith, as well as £125 prosecution costs, or serve 42 days in prison.
