Marown's rates will have to go up by 7.8 per cent this year after the local authority saw what it calls "significant increases" in costs.
Marown Commissioners have set their parish rates at 195 pence in the pound for the coming year.
The board says the rise comes about because of extra costs for the Energy from Waste Plant, Western Civic Amenity Site, and electricity prices.
It adds its contribution towards the Western Swimming Pool has more than doubled this year.
