A Douglas man has been fined £500 after being caught with less than £10 worth of cannabis.
27-year-old Wesley Milson Jenkins, of Vicarage Mews, admitted possessing the Class B substance at Douglas Courthouse this week.
Police pulled him over on Manor Road in Douglas on January 29th after spotting his car sporting 'illegal style' number plates.
Officers noted a strong smell of cannabis coming from the vehicle and found a joint and two small wraps - in interview Jenkins told police he would continue to use the drug in the future.
Sentencing him Deputy High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told him "Cannabis possession is an offence - that's something you need to accept".
She also ordered him to pay prosecution costs of £125.
