A Port Erin man has been fined £400 after an insurance ‘oversight’.
24-year-old Connor Alexander Gale, of Magher Garran, admitted having no insurance during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse on Thursday.
Police stopped him on Douglas Road in Ballasalla at around 8pm on April 28th after being unable to read the number plate on the Nissan Pathfinder he was driving.
He was asked to produce his insurance details but was unable to do so - admitting his policy didn’t cover him to drive other vehicles.
In court Gale told Magistrates he’d been test-driving the car and it had been a 'complete oversight'.
Magistrates ordered him to pay £50 in prosecution costs and also endorsed his driving licence with four penalty points.
