The government's revealed it's allowed four-wheel drive vehicles onto the Island's green lanes 32 times in the last five years.
In the House of Keys this week, Garff MHK Daphne Caine asked Infrastructure Minister Ray Harmer how many permits had been given to 4x4 drivers to go onto the lanes since 2015.
Her question came in the week the department warned people not to drive onto the Island's uplands illegally because of the damage vehicles can cause.
Mr Harmer said 32 permits had been issued covering all the Island's tracks except the Narradale Bog on the Sky Hill Track, and the Slieau Dhoo Link Track - both of which are permanently closed to vehicles.
