£3.2m IT spend approved for hospital

Tynwald has voted in favour of a major spend on upgrading Noble's Hospital IT system.

The current technology is described as being seriously outdated - it will be replaced by the Medway system, used by many hospitals across the UK.

In total it will cost £3.2 million.

Despite data protection concerns raised by the Speaker of the House Steve Rodan, Tynwald Members voted in favour spending the money.

Health and Social Care Minister Howard Quayle outlined exactly how the money will be spent:
