Registered birdkeepers on the Island have 23 captive birds, according to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
A Freedom of Information Request asked how many schedule 4 birds there are on the Island - it's illegal to keep such species in captivity without registering with DEFA.
In response the department said its last available figures were from 2022, when 23 captive birds including peregrine falcons, hawks and owls were kept by registered keepers.
In 2021, four owls were imported to the Island, with another two the following year.
