Postal workers who smelled cannabis in a parcel led to around £20,000 worth of the drug being found by police.
38 year old Scott Anthony Johnson of Robert Stephen Close in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
He’s pleaded guilty to producing the drug and possessing it, but denies possessing it with intent to supply.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing police were called to the Braddan sorting office and found a parcel containing just under a kilo of cannabis bush.
Mrs Hughes said the case was too serious for her sentencing powers and remanded Johnson in custody until his next appearance on August 14.
